blackentheblack asked: what were your top three films of 2011??
Incendies, which is probably in my top 3 of ever, then Martha Marcy May Marlene (and for all the Wellingtonians who missed it in the fest, Embassy is screening it when it opens in March), and Love Story, which is this amazing film by a NZ director, Florian Habicht, it’s kind of a constructed documentary set in New York, and it follows him meeting someone in passing and then trying to find her by asking passers-by if they’ve seen her, and when he does so, asks them about life and love and the city and it’s just really sweet but in a new and not-really-that-sweet-at-all way.

Incendies is beautiful, did you know it’s originally a three-piece play? incendies is one of the three pieces. Idk if some group is performing them over there though

Oh man, Incendies was phenomenal. Easily one of the best films I’ve sene in ages.
I like Florian, have you seen Kaikohe Demolition or Land of the Long White Cloud? Very funny.
